CURATORIAL STANDARDS

Editorial & Fact-Checking Policy

How we research species exhibits, investigate myths, and maintain objective curatorial integrity.

RECORD #ED-042 ยท RESEARCH PROTOCOL OFFICIAL POLICY

1. Research & Fact-Checking Methodology

Every species exhibit placard and mythbuster investigation on PetEatSafe Museum undergoes multi-step verification. Information is cross-referenced against authoritative sources including veterinary manuals, zoological species databases, ASPCA records, and peer-reviewed companion animal literature.

2. Mythbusters Verdict Standards

Our Pet Mythbusters investigations evaluate common pet-keeping claims using 4 distinct verdict stamps:

  • MYTH โ€” False claim contradicted by veterinary/zoological evidence.
  • MIXED โ€” Contains partial truth, but requires critical nuance or context.
  • CONTEXT โ€” True under specific conditions or species subspecies only.
  • TRUE-ISH โ€” Supported by verified data and expert consensus.

3. Community Submissions & Moderation

Future user submissions (species photo contributions, myth inquiries) are strictly moderated prior to build deployment. We do not publish unverified medical claims, copyrighted materials, or promotional content.

4. Independence & Transparency

PetEatSafe Museum remains independent. Curatorial verdicts are never influenced by affiliate partnerships or advertising sponsors. Display advertisements are kept non-intrusive and separate from exhibit content.
