With a yellow coat covered in dark leopard spots, a plump tail, and a perpetual “smiling” mouth, Leopard Geckos are one of the world’s most beloved companion lizards.

👁️ The Movable Eyelid & Fat-Tail Superpowers

Leopard Geckos differ from almost all other gecko species in two amazing ways:

• Real Movable Eyelids: Most geckos cannot blink and must lick their eyes to clean them. Leopard Geckos possess real movable eyelids—they can close their eyes to sleep and wink!
• Fat-Storage Tail: Their plump tail acts as a nutrient savings bank! In times of food scarcity, a Leopard Gecko draws energy from fat stored inside its tail.
